Todo lists shouldn’t be complicated. DWTS (Done, Waiting, Top 3, Soon) is a simple way to organize todos for your busy life.

Everyone’s got a system.

How Are You Going to Keep Track of It All?

Let’s face the facts — the modern American life is busy. At work you move from meeting to meeting. Slack messages can come at any time. Many other software tools have a similar @-mention feature that can notify you. And of course, emails.

Obligations don’t stop at work either. At home, you have friends, family, bills, chores, and the fun stuff that you really want to do.

How are you going to keep track of it all? Enter the todo list. It’s been around forever. It’s likely to stay forever in some way, shape, or form.

Everyone’s got a system that works for them. Likely you learned something in middle school and modified it over the years. Maybe it’s post-it notes. Maybe it’s an app. Maybe it’s both, something else, or no system at all.

With that in mind, I humbly suggest a format that has worked for me across 15 years of professional work life, and in my personal life too.

Try it out and see if it works for you. If not, no worries. You do you! Hopefully though you can learn a thing or two, and I from you too.
